Staff also served a freshly harvested lettuce on site for journalists to taste.
Because it is grown completely in a pollution-free environment, these lettuce can be eaten directly without cleaning, and taste good. Okada Ming said that now the plant factory output of vegetable sales prices and ordinary lettuce, there is room to further reduce costs in the future. When the daily output reaches 5000 strains, only about 10 staff on the ground need to carry out seedling raising, harvesting and equipment maintenance.
In the future, they also plan to develop more automation equipment, with the goal of reducing costs by income. Plant factories typically consume a lot of electricity to control mild light, but the plant plant is set up in underground tunnels and can save a large amount of air conditioning electricity, according to Qianye County, deputy director of the Enterprise Land Administration. In addition, due to the proximity of the consumer market, the output of vegetables do not need long-distance transportation, saving a lot of logistics costs.
